It did provide me with a base of information as far as terminology goes, and I'm sure it would help someone completely new but as I said just getting hands on was better for me

Very helpful tips when commissioned to make some demanding box frames, containing small toys on little shelves, in several tiers that required glass on all three sides, other than the back, which I had to paint - two of which were an imaginary castles! The tone made me believe the book's audience is either 1 in the classroom with the author or 2 already doing woodworking but wants to understand how to use power tools and make better joints. In my urban townhouse there simply isn't room for some of the larger equipment. Best book I've found for someone getting started in woodworking. For example a router is a great tool for finishing edges and cutting datos,' but the author doesn't help you decide which type of router would best fit ANY type of woodworker. This book is not bad.
Nothing against the book itself, but I have found that simply getting in the shop and actually get hands on with wood to be more beneficial.
