I drained the carrots BEFORE I added the brown sugar. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and baking soda; gradually beat into sugar mixture until blended.

The only things i did differently was i strained the carrots before putting it with the brown sugar also i strained all the juice from the pineapple reserving about 3 tbs for the cake mix!
